Legacy – 1935
Campaign & Rewards
We all fell in love with Twilight through the story of Edward and Bella, but theirs is only one thread in a much larger tapestry. The Cullen Chronicles: Legacy - 1935 explores an untold story within that world: the origin of Emmett Cullen.
Set during the Great Depression in 1935 Tennessee, the film follows a young man on the edge of death, and the mysterious family who choose to save him. With a micro-budget and a devoted team, we are building a cinematic experience designed to feel like a missing piece of the saga.
Our Dream:
Meet the Cullens
Jake Fogg as Emmett McCarty/Cullen
Jake (IG: @foggyknight14) leads Legacy - 1935 through his portrayal of Emmett McCarty/Cullen, taking audiences back to a side of the character we have never seen before: Emmett as a human. Some audiences may already recognise Jake as a certain superhero in a red cape! Well known for his portrayal of Superman, Jake has travelled across the country appearing at conventions, community events, and children’s hospitals, bringing the iconic character to life for fans of all ages. Now, Jake steps into an entirely different kind of icon.
Long before he became the lovable monkey-man of the Cullen family, author Stephenie Meyer described Emmett as a gambler, a womaniser, and a young man living recklessly through the Great Depression. Our film explores not only the humanity Emmett lost, but the terrifying reality of what he became afterwards. Through Jake’s performance, audiences will witness Emmett’s brutal transition into immortality: the bloodlust, the confusion, the struggle to hold onto his humanity, and the beginning of the love story that will ultimately define his forever alongside Rosalie Hale.
Searra Sawka as Rosalie Hale
Searra (IG: @sea_sawka) embodies the complexity of Rosalie Hale with striking depth. Her beauty, her trauma from the final night of her human life (still painfully recent, having occurred only two years ago in our timeline) and her mounting, confusing feelings for the stranger she has just saved, Emmett McCarty, are all brought to life with great care and respect for the character.
With a strong acting background, audiences may recognise Searra from her work in Hell House LLC: The Carmichael Manor and the final instalment of the series: Hell House LLC: Lineage, both written and directed by Stephen Cognetti.
Among audiences, Rosalie Hale is often misunderstood. One goal for our film is to bring justice to her character, so audiences may finally see her not as a woman defined by cruelty, but rather a female survivor. A woman who endured profound trauma and, despite the physical pain it put her in, made a defining choice: to save the life of another.
Searra brings a rare balance to this role, revealing Rosalie’s sensitivity without diminishing her strength, and capturing the pivotal moment that changes everything - her refusal to let Emmett die.
Billy Joseph Jr as Dr. Carlisle Cullen
Billy (IG: @billy_joseph_jr) steps into the role of Carlisle Cullen with a calm strength and quiet elegance that feels deeply true to the character audiences have loved for years. There is a gentleness to Billy’s presence that naturally draws people in, capturing Carlisle’s compassion, wisdom, and unwavering sense of humanity so effortlessly, despite the darkness around and within his character.
As the patriarch of the Cullen coven, Carlisle serves as both protector and moral compass: a vampire who chose mercy, resisting the very nature of his kind by refusing to slaughter human beings in order to satisfy his thirst. Billy's portrayal reminds us why Carlisle Cullen has always stood apart: not because he is the strongest in the room, but because he never stopped choosing kindness.
Noah Bird as Edward Cullen
Noah (IG: @noahbird_9) captures the restraint, loneliness and internal conflict that define this beautifully complex character. Years before even Charlie Swan was born, Edward Cullen existed, accepting his fate as an immortal and choosing to loyally remain with his adopted parents (for all intents and purposes): Carlisle and Esme Cullen. Beneath Edward's calm exterior lies a creature constantly at war with himself, and Noah brings that struggle to the screen with grace, sincerity and great care. His portrayal of a younger, less experienced Edward offers audiences the chance to reconnect with a character so many have loved for years, proving that while the face may be different, Edward Cullen has truly returned to your screen once more.
Lily Bellucci as Esme Cullen
Lily (IG: @lilliananastasia) is the writer and director of Legacy - 1935, founder of the production studio The Haus of Luce, and the actress portraying Esme Cullen. Through her studies of cinema as part of her French major at University, Lily developed a deep respect for the art of filmmaking and a love for atmospheric, emotionally driven cinema; influences that would later become embedded within her vision for Legacy - 1935.
Inspired by the emotional intimacy, haunting tone and cinematic style of the original Twilight film, Lily created Legacy - 1935 out of a desire to return audiences to the romance, mystery and magic that first made the Saga unforgettable.
As both filmmaker and performer, her approach to Esme centres on warmth, grace, quiet strength, and unconditional love, capturing the gentle spirit of the woman Edward once described as “the heart” of the Cullen coven. Through her direction, Lily aims to blend the grounded emotional realism of Catherine Hardwicke’s original film with the darker, more mature storytelling of a Depression-era vampire drama.

Why This Goal Matters:
Twenty years after the release of the first Twilight novel,
this fandom is still alive because of the people who refused to let it fade away.
When fans asked for another story, we received Midnight Sun.
When fans asked for new Twilight merchandise, companies responded with new collaborations, including makeup collections and even a new fragrance released years after the Saga first began.
Legacy - 1935 exists because of that same passion.
This campaign is proof that audiences still believe in this world and still want to return to it.
By supporting this film, you become part of the reason another Twilight story gets told.
If successful, Legacy - 1935 will become the first ever Twilight feature film created entirely by fans, for fans.
Behind every great saga is a cast of unforgettable characters, and the actors who breathe life into them. Our main cast steps into their roles with emotional truth, care for canon, and a genuine love for the Twilight universe. Get to know the immortal family that make up The Cullen Chronicles…

What If We Don't Reach Our Goal?
If we do not reach our full funding goal, every dollar raised will still go directly towards production.
A smaller budget may impact the scale of certain elements, including locations, scheduling, stunt work, and technical resources, but the film will still move forward. Legacy - 1935 has already spent well over two years in active development, and we are fully committed to bringing this story to life regardless of the challenges ahead.
Risks & Challenges:
Like any independent production, especially one involving period recreation, stunt work, practical effects, and multiple filming locations, Legacy - 1935 comes with challenges. These include coordinating travel and accommodation across Washington and Oregon, managing weather conditions during filming, maintaining period accuracy, and working within the limitations of a true independent budget.
However, this project has already undergone extensive pre-production planning over the course of more than twenty-four months. Our team includes experienced producers, an assistant director, cinematographer, and specialists across multiple departments, including production design, costume work, visual effects, and Twilight canon research. Every creative decision is being approached with care, professionalism, and deep respect for the source material.
Some Challenges We Anticipate Include:
- Weather delays while filming in Forks and Oregon
- Scheduling around cast and crew availability
- Unexpected expenses relating to equipment, permits, accommodation, or effects work
- The limitations of independent filmmaking, requiring creative solutions while maintaining cinematic quality
Should setbacks or delays arise, we are committed to transparency with our supporters and will continue providing updates throughout production. No matter the obstacles, this film will move forward. Because this story matters to us. And we know it matters to you, too.
